Annual Appeal

More than 95 percent of donations to the National Religious Retirement Office aid elderly and frail religious.

The annual appeal for the Retirement Fund for Religious (RFR) is conducted on the second Sunday in Advent in most Catholic parishes throughout the United States. Some of the nation's 192 Catholic dioceses conduct the appeal on alternate dates and others combine the RFR appeal with other national or diocesan appeals.

NRRO strives to raise visibility for its annual appeal by working with Catholic communicators throughout the nation and by undertaking strategic media initiatives.

The Retirement Fund for Religious is in its 21st year. Since the first appeal in 1988, RFR has been the most successful fundraising appeal in U.S. Catholic Church history and has raised more than $550 million.

Donations can be made at Catholic parishes or mailed to the National Religious Retirement Office.
