The National Religious Retirement Office (NRRO) furnishes a variety of tools and services to help religious institutes effectively plan and provide for retirement and elder care.
The NRRO maintains a network of consultants to assist religious institutes in preparing for retirement. Individuals trained especially in fiscal planning, elder care, and community leadership volunteer their services and make recommendations to the NRRO regarding the amount of financial assistance.
Representatives from religious institutes applying for Planning and Implementation Assistance work with volunteer consultants at an NRRO planning workshop.
A Retirement Needs Analysis is available to calculate retirement need based on a religious institute's demographics, present cost of care, and assets available for retirement. The estimates of future retirement costs incorporate census projections based on the William M. Mercer Mortality Tables for members of religious communities.
Workshops sponsored or co-sponsored by the NRRO focus on topics such as emerging trends in elder care, government programs for seniors, resources for retirement planning, and building or renovating for retirement care.
Since 1988, the NRRO has become a significant source of data about the status of religious life in the United States.
